EARN DISTINGUISHED CREDENTIAL AS AN EXPERT IN HAND REHABILITATION
GLENDALE, AZ – Michelle Abrams, OTR/L, CHT of VibrantCare
Rehabilitation (formerly NovaCare Rehabilitation) has earned the
distinguished Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) designation after
completing all required examinations and clinical studies. The
CHT credential offers assurance to the public that the therapist
treating them has achieved the highest recognition of competency in the
profession of upper quarter therapy. Only 4 occupational or
physical therapists passed the CHT exam in the state of Arizona in 2006.
The Hand Therapy Certification Commission, Inc., (HTCC) – the only
organization granting hand therapy certification in the United States,
Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, The Netherlands, Australia, and New
Zealand – requires at least five years of clinical experience as an
occupational therapist, a minimum of 4,000 hours in direct practice in
hand therapy and successful completion of advanced clinical skills and
theory in upper quarter rehabilitation. There are approximately 4500
individuals worldwide that hold this marked designation.

7 years and has been with VibrantCare Rehabilitation for the past two
years. She has worked in a variety of settings including
pediatrics, in-patient hospitalization, acute neurological
rehabilitation and out-patient orthopedic rehabilitation. In
addition to her CHT, she holds certifications in vestibular
rehabilitation and as an ergonomic specialist. Michelle’s wealth
of experience working with a wide variety of diagnoses has truly
allowed her to incorporate all aspects of healing in her current
practice of hand therapy.
