VIBRANTCARE REHABILITATION TO PROVIDE PHYSICAL THERAPY ON
FATHER/DAUGHTER DUO WHO UNDERWENT FIRST LIVE TENDON TRANSFER IN ARIZONA
GLENDALE, AZ – Jeff Devries, PT, and Jack Lehman, PT, of VibrantCare
Rehabilitation's Glendale facility began physical therapy treatment
today on father/daughter duo who underwent first live donor tendon
transfer in Arizona on Friday.
The surgery, which grafted the father's hamstring to replace his
daughter's ACL tendon, is usually performed using cadaver tendons.
“This is a very interesting case, the first on the west coast,” said
Jeff Devries, PT. “The father wanted to provide his daughter with
a hamstring from a person that was related to her rather than a
cadaver.”
Both patients will receive specialized physical therapy and are
expected to make a quick recovery.
VibrantCare Rehabilitation, formerly NovaCare Rehabilitation, consists
of more than 50 patient care centers in 5 states. Locally, VibrantCare
operates 15 physical and occupational therapy centers in Phoenix, Casa
Grande and Tucson. VibrantCare clinics specialize in a multitude
of services including hand, spine, vestibular, Spanish-speaking and
employer injury prevention and management
programs.
